{"id":24888,"date":"2023-05-15T15:01:53","date_gmt":"2023-05-15T19:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.parsons.com\/?post_type=project&#038;p=24888"},"modified":"2023-12-27T15:45:20","modified_gmt":"2023-12-27T20:45:20","slug":"northwest-corridor-express-lanes-atlanta-ga","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.parsons.com\/project\/northwest-corridor-express-lanes-atlanta-ga\/","title":{"rendered":"Northwest Corridor Express Lanes &#8211; Atlanta, Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The award-winning Northwest Corridor Express Lanes is the largest constructed transportation project in Georgia\u2019s history and the first Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) project to be procured as a design-build finance.<\/strong> Parsons was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parsons.com\/2018\/09\/parsons-inet-software-integral-northwest-corridor-reversible-express-lanes\/\">lead designer<\/a> for this massive urban freeway project, which involved 29.7 miles of reversible tolled express lanes along I-75 and I-575 in metropolitan Atlanta, three intersecting interstate highways, and 39 bridges.<\/p>\n<h3>Project Scope<\/h3>\n<p>Parsons\u2019 project team responded to the inherent challenges of such a large and complex project with alternative technical concepts, accelerated bridge construction techniques, and creative solutions. By doing this, the project has reduced costs by approximately $110 million and finished on an accelerated schedule. Also, our solutions reduced impacts on the environment, highway users, and the traveling public along the corridor.<\/p>\n<h3>Intelligent Transportation Solutions<\/h3>\n<p>Utilizing our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parsons.com\/intelligent-transportation-solutions\/\">intelligent transportation solutions<\/a>, we helped GDOT to monitor traffic, control messaging signs, and operate access gates.
